To ensure a safe and productive environment, we have established the following rules and agreements:
- Minimum Commitment: A minimum period of volunteering is 3 weeks.
- Work Hours: Commitment to 5 hours of work per day, 5 days a week.
- Community Work and Housing Maintenance: Participate in communal tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and maintaining living spaces.
- Use of Protection Equipment: Protective equipment must be worn during work to ensure safety.
- Tool Usage and Maintenance: Volunteers are responsible for the proper use and cleaning of the tools provided.
- No Violence: Absolutely no violence (of any kind) is allowed. Conflicts will arise and be supported by the community, but violence will not be tolerated.
- No Drugs or Illegal Substances: The use of drugs or illegal substances is strictly prohibited in our Basecamp.
- Alcohol Use: Alcohol is only permitted on celebration days according to the group’s decision.
- Tobacco Use: Smoking is allowed only in Basecamp confines due to forest fires.
- Noise Restrictions: Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 PM to ensure a restful environment for all.
- No Children: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children for this experience.
- No Aggressive Pets: We have 2 cats and 1 dog in our Basecamp, we only accept vaccinated pets that are friendly and well behaved.
- Proactivity and Cooperation: Volunteers are expected to be proactive, look for tasks that need to be done, and assist others without being asked.
- Respect and Kindness: Treat all community members, wildlife, and the environment with respect and kindness.
- Open-mindedness and Learning: Be open to feedback, willing to learn, and eager to improve.
- Safety First: Follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by team leaders.
These rules are designed to create a safe and supportive environment where everyone can contribute effectively and grow together. By adhering to these agreements, we can ensure a positive and productive experience for all volunteers at Silveira.
Note: If there is a significant breach of these rules or if day-to-day conduct is unacceptable, including any disrespectful behavior towards other volunteers or team members, we will be forced to ask the individual to leave the program.
